The Spice Girls are reportedly set to perfrom at the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics.
Though the Girls have not publicly confirmed the performance several news outlets have. The Telegraph stated not only will they sing but that Olympics officials have been trying to get the Spice Girls to perform during the ceremonies for two years. The news site also states they will be performing alongside such acts as The Who, Take That, and George Michael. Other news sites such as MSN and The Daily Mail U.K. echoed these statements.
The Spice Girls will allegedly be performing two of their biggest hits: “Wannabe” and “Viva Forever”.
The Spice Girls haven’t performed together since their Return Of The Spice Girls reunion tour in 2008. On June 26, 2012 at the St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel the group reunited at a press conference to announce the new musical Viva Forever! based on their songs. The musical is set to open in London’s West End on December 11, 2012.
The closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games are set to be held Sunday, August 12, 2012.
