As the labor day weekend approaches, I wanted to share some of my favorite recipes and finds over the past week. Some of them may come in handy as you prepare for the holiday weekend!
I have a bottle of a rose wine that I likely will not drink – just not my preference. So, finding this recipe made me excited about having a bottle of wine I need to use in a recipe!
Snow Cones for Grown Ups
My aunt and uncle visited from Ohio, where they have always had a huge garden. Because they drove, we ended up amazing zucchini’s – a good 3x as big as what you find in the grocery stores! I’ve been wondering what to do with them and can’t wait to cook up these recipes!
Fresh take on Zucchini recipes
We are not hosting a party this weekend (at least one day we’ll be at the Baltimore Grand Prix). For those that are planning a party and want some new and simple takes on party food using the best of summer’s fresh ingredients, check out these recipes!
Summer Hors d’Oeuvres or Summer Salads
Blackberries have been on sale all summer at my local grocery store. These delicious summer Blackberry Cocktails are a treat to enjoy on the deck after a day at the office!
Tasting Table’s Blackberry
Vodka with Blackberry
Blackberry Herb Cocktail
In keeping with the cocktail theme, this recipe from Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore is one of my summertime favorites. I skip the simple syrup – the Chai Liqueur is sweet enough on its own. Enjoy!
And, for a new Baltimore brew, check out Union Craft Brewing in Hampden! Tastings are available on Saturdays from 1-4 pm.
Finally, while you prepare for your holiday weekend and back to school lunch shopping, here are some tips for saving on healthy foods.
Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend!
