Taylor Eigsti continues to do right by the region that set him on the path to a flourishing jazz career.
The latest chapter in the young pianist-composer’s ongoing campaign to foster the music scene that nurtured him comes Sunday when he headlines a San Jose Jazz event benefiting the organization’s Summer Jazz Camp scholarship fund. Eigsti has taught at the camp and clearly appreciates the value of expanding access to the program.
Set for Sherman Clay Recital Hall in Santa Clara, the music begins at 6:30 p.m. with Eigsti at the piano for an hour solo set. That will be followed by a half-hour meet and greet accompanied by refreshments. The evening concludes with an hour-long jam session featuring Eigsti and specially invited guests.
Tickets are $25 and seating is general admission.
