The upcoming season of ‘American Idol’ promises to be entertaining with new judges and added drama. In addition to contestants bringing their A-game with nerves and attitude, the judges will be bringing their expertise and egos to the show.
People magazine recently reported that ‘American Idol’ added two more judges to their roster. In addition to Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban will be joining the show. Keith was delighted to be added to the roster saying, “It’s really an honor to have been invited to be a part of the American Idol family. I’m looking forward to working with everyone and to seeing the same passion that I have for music in all of the participants.”
While Urban seems to be adjusting well to the ‘American Idol’ platform, Nicki Minaj is reportedly having problems with the other diva on the show. TMZ reported that Nicki and Mariah Carey had serious disagreements during the first taping of the show that caused Minaj to talk over the ‘Glitter’ star. Mariah previously told the media outlet that there can only be one diva on ‘American Idol,’ and she was fine with judging the contest by herself. “Naturally … why not,” said the singer and actress.
We’ll just have to wait until the season begins to see the tension between the two pop singers.
