Sponsored by the City of Santa Clara’s Cultural Advisory Commission, The Franklin Square Street Dance returns on Friday, August 3, 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The event is free, and The Silicon Valley Houserockers will be the featured band. The ten-member group from Los Gatos has long earned a reputation as one of the busiest and in demand bands in Northern California. They have recently been named “Best Cover Band in the Bay Area” as winners of the KFOX Radio Last Band Standing contest.
The dance will be held on Jackson Street between Homestead Road and Benton Street, adjacent to the Franklin Square. This event is geared toward the whole family, and children’s activities will also be available. Food and activity booths will start at 6 p.m., and the band will begin playing at 7 p.m.
