Allentown presents the 7th Annual Doggie Dip Days, where dogs get a chance to swim in the Allentown city pools as they close for the summer. Resident rate is $4 and non-resident rate is $6. The event will be held at Jordan Pool, 6th and Sumner Avenue, Saturday, August 25, noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday, August 26, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and at Cedar Beach Pool, Cedar Parkway and W. Linden Street, Tuesday, September 4, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, September 5, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. All dogs must be up to date on their shots and have a 2012 dog license or they cannot participate. Any dog which becomes aggressive will be asked to leave. A monetary or food donation is for the Lehigh County Humane Society is asked for in addition to the entrance fee.
On Saturday, August 25, 6-10 p.m., ‘Zoo in Paradise’ at the Lehigh Valley Zoo, features The Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band. This is a fundraiser for the zoo. Advanced tickets are $12.50, $15.00 at the door. Event is only for ages 21 and over.
The 34th Annual Wheels of Time Rod & Custom Jamboree will be held August 24-26 at the Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar Street, Macungie. There will be more than 1500 of the shiniest, most colorful custom cars and street rods on the East Coast.
