Tia Mowry could topline a new comedy series based on an African American family. According to recent reports, Nickelodeon’s Nick at Nite is in talks with the actress.
Titled “Instant Mom,” the comedy series is loosely based on the life of a twenty-five year old party girl who trades in cosmos, gets married and becomes an instant step-mom.
While the role is not yet confirmed, if all goes well it will mark Mowry’s first leading scripted role on a series since she left BET’s “The Game” earlier this year. Since her shocking exit, Mowry has been seen on the Style docu-series Tia & Tamera and has released a book chronicling motherhood.
It is unclear who else might be considered for the series, including the role of Mowry’s husband. As previously reported, Mowry’s on screen love interest, Pooch Hall, followed her in parting ways with “The Game.”
Mowry’s credits include five seasons on “The Game,” “Sister Sister” and “Double Wedding.”
