On boats, skis, tubes and towels across the nation, an estimated 83 million Americans will take to the water this year. Whether you sit back and enjoy the view or skim across the water on skis and wakeboards, nothing beats a day out on the water.
In addition to the sunscreen, snacks and good times, a day of sailing across the bay, skiing around the lake or tubing down the river deserves its own musical soundtrack.
After polling their 500,000 Facebook fans for their favorite on-the-water songs, Discover Boating has compiled an ultimate boating playlist of Top Ten Boating Songs.
“Nothing beats the right playlist when you’re on the water with friends and family,” says Ellen Hopkins, Discover Boating lifestyle expert and Chicago boater. “Whether you’re fishing, sailing, wakeboarding or just cruising – boating lets you disconnect from the daily grind, and adding the perfect soundtrack enhances the fun and enjoyment of any boating experience.”
Discover Boating’s Top Boating Songs are ranked in order from one to ten from the 1,106 votes received from Discover Boating Facebook fans. Not surprisingly, the baron of beach bums himself, Jimmy Buffett, took three of the spots, including number one with the Zac Brown Band and “Knee Deep.”
Discover Boating’s Top Ten Boating Songs:
- Knee Deep (Zac Brown Band featuring Jimmy Buffett)
- Redneck Yacht Club (Craig Morgan)
- Pontoon (Little Big Town)
- Come Sail Away (Styx)
