People danced, milled about, ate and drank as house music blared, and alternative and country bands played during this weekend’s annual Wicker Park Fest, located from North Milwaukee Avenue to North Damen Avenue.
With performances from bands like Kill Hannah, The Drums, country punk-rockers Lucero, and even some Screaming Females, Chicago’s WPF prides itself on reflecting the neighborhood’s rich musical heritage, vibrant nightlife and acclaimed restaurants.

For an optional $5 donation, almost 60,000 attendees got to see up to 40 bands perform on three stages, giving people more space to dance, dine and shop this weekend. Wicker Park-Bucktown Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Adam Burck said the addition of two extra performing arts areas helped keep crowds more manageable this year.
With the exception of a few teens who decided to use this popular event as an opportunity to loot some jeans, the festival mostly went without a hitch.
