Amazing! Did you read about the church that refused to marry the black couple in Mississippi? http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/30/us/mississippi-black-couple-wedding/index.html
‘The Church.’ The body of Christ; we are all fighting against the same enemy, the same powers, the same spiritual wickedness. The question is, are we all fighting together? Imagine this…
What would the world be like, if we tore down the walls of denomination for the sake of the Kingdom of God; for the sake of Kingdom building. Imagine not getting Caught up in men’s doctrines that separate one church from the other; (because we should all be ‘the church’).
What would the world be like if every local church worked together for the good of ‘The Church’ (the body of Christ)? Instead of having Assemblies of God, Church of God, Church of the Living God, Church of Christ, Church of God in Christ, Baptist, American Baptist, Southern Baptist, Missionary Baptist, Full Gospel, Pentecostal, Methodist, United Methodist, African Methodist Episcopal, Lutheran, Apostolic, Apostolic Faith, Holiness, Presbyterian, Non-denomination, Inter-denominational, Baptist Free-will (well we get the picture)….Instead of the body of Christ being split, what if we were united?
What if we all came together and taught Jesus Christ and Him crucified!!? What if we came together with the same purpose; to save souls and build the Kingdom? What if all we cared about was God’s business instead of our own?
What would the world be like if we all came together and prayed for our communities, cities, country and world? Can you picture the power? Can you picture the light? We are the light of the world, aren’t we? What would happen if all of the little lights got together and made one light? What if Christ’s body was together instead of separated? What if it didn’t matter if you were black or white, rich or poor, from the streets or from the suburbs, from a Methodist background or a Pentecostal background? What if we just put that aside sometimes, to become the army we were called to be?
What if churches weren’t competing for members and programs? What if we saw a church hurting and broken, and we got together and helped them instead of talking about them? Oh it must have been wonderful coming to hear Jesus teach, when no one was there to care what you were wearing, or how you were talking, or where you came from…It must have been wonderful to just be in the multitude hearing the Truth, without having to ‘fit in’ to the doctrine and the dress code.
The only thing that should make us ‘fit in’ is our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience to His Word. What would it be like if we all came together? Well….. “The Lord said, ‘Indeed the people are one and they have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they purpose to do will be withheld from them.” Genesis 11:6
God says, if we come together as one, nothing will be withheld from us. Wow!!! “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” (Romans 12:5) What did Jesus pray for us? ‘That they all may be one, as thou Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us;…”
What would the world be like if we were one? Don’t just pray for your church, pray for ‘The Church.’
