With several new burger options becoming available in old town Scottsdale in recent months only Rehab Burger Therapy http://www.rehabburgertherapy.com/ emphasizes the burger in their name and on the menu. Opened by 3 restaurant industry veterans, Rehab does serve more than the 8 burgers ($6.50-$14) listed on the menu including sandwiches, pastas and salads to fulfill your need. On the day I checked in I went with the Backyard BBQ Burger, Rehab style ($11)
All burgers come in 2 sizes, Rehab which is a 10 oz. or Relapse which is a 5 oz. of 100% USDA ground chuck beef that is grilled to order and comes on your choice of Brioche, pretzel or wheat bun. The Backyard BBQ Burger was created during one of Chef Ken’s backyard bonanzas and comes served with 2 big onion rings, melted Colby Jack cheese and drizzled from top to bottom with sweet and spicy sauce. I chose to have mine served on the soft and chewy Brioche bun and was very satisfied with its rare grilling and taste.
After removing 1 of the onion rings to make it more manageable I found the beef to taste good and the sweet and spicy sauce to do its job of having dueling flavors. The thick cut onion rings were crunchy and full of flavor as well. Most burgers get the L.O.T. treatment (lettuce, onions and tomato) as a garnish along with a pickle spear. Skin on fries or sweet potato tots are your choices for sides and I found the tots to be good but never as crunchy as regular tots. After being only being around for a little over a month it looks like many people have already checked into Rehab so hopefully they’ll be around for the long term as many more need to check in.
